Go without a daily item, or a meal. Or fast for an entire day. Do this as often as you can. Determine the value of what you would have consumed and set it aside. Encourage friends and family to do the same.
Gather the funds and donate to your local poverty relief organizations, or organize. Contact your local women's shelter, low income community center, or any local organization that feeds people in need. Offer to cook for them, host a cooking class, or buy them food that they can cook themselves.
Use the funds you otherwise would have consumed mindlessly and cook for people, using these easy, nutritious recipes. Or, host a cooking class or community kitchen and cook together with families who face food insecurity. These recipes are inexpensive, and are also very kid friendly.
Repeat as desired. Enjoy the feeling of consuming less. Reap the benefits of giving more. Just a few dollars and a little time will go further than you think.
